Biography

In 2005 Lauren began her career in Colorado Springs as a singer/songwriter. Staring off playing in local bars soon turned into recording her 1st album, "Portable Me." The CD which was originally recorded as her 1st demo posted great reviews and was soon being sold by Independent Records in both Colorado springs, and Denver. In 2006 Lauren was asked to play at New West Fest, a festival in Fort Collins, Colorado, and fell in love with the town. Just a few months later Lauren made the move up to Fort Collins where she met band mate Mason Bassuk. The two had and instant connection and began playing as "Lauren Joy Music," an acoustic rock duo. A few years later this love for the music also turned into a love for each other and in December 2008 they became husband and wife.

In the summer of 2009 they met Dave Wisbon, a local musician to Fort Collins, CO who added his energetic style on the keys and harmonica to compleate this intense new sound. The three of them played many shows together, including the Aggie Theater in Fort Collins, and released their 1st album"Natural" as The Key of Joy in April of 2010.

 

Now in 2011 Lauren and Mason are playing throughout the Colorado region, and excited to begin recording again soon! So here's to a brand new year filled with many opportunities and lots of great music from The Key of Joy!
